Dear colleagues!
Dear sworn brothers!

Address by the Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine on the Occasion of the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation and the Day of Victory over Nazism in World War II

Today, on May 8, the whole free and democratic world celebrates the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation. For Ukrainians and the civilized world, this day is a symbol of victory over Nazism, because an Act of Surrender of Hitler’s regime was adopted on May 8.

We also commemorate the feat of the Ukrainian people, their outstanding contribution to the victory of the Anti-Hitler Coalition in World War II. Over 1939–1945, losses of our people were unprecedented. Historians count a horrific number of victims: more than five million of Ukrainians, who were directly killed and tortured, and even more our compatriots, who were deported, repressed, evacuated, as well as died of hunger and cold. Every fifth Ukrainian perished at that period. The brown plague did not escape any Ukrainian family and affected all regions of the country.

Today, a new plague has come to our land - putin's rascism (russian fascism), which has become an analogue of Nazism in the XXI century. There is no doubt that the vast majority of the russian population, which has been methodically zombied by propaganda for decades, has approved and still approves of the mass crimes of the putin’s regime in Ukraine. russian soldiers, brought up on the "pobiedobiesiye" and the myths of May 9, killed and continue to kill peaceful Ukrainians in Bucha, Hostomel, Irpin, Mariupol and hundreds of other towns and villages of Ukraine, to devastate Ukrainian cities, towns, to torture prisoners.

Remembering the terrible events of the Second World War and its victims in Ukraine, we are fighting even harder against the russian occupiers as we protect our families, homes, streets, cities, towns and villages from a new hateful evil – rascism, which aims to genocide of the Ukrainian nation.

Ukrainians withstood and together with other nations of the world gained victory over Nazism in World War II. I am confident that we will withstand now and will gain victory over rascism - in the war for our freedom, independence and happy future. Thanks to our struggle, the world will change for the better.

1939 – 1945 – We remember!

2022 – We won’t forget!

We will win!

Glory to Ukraine!
