Andrii Cherniak, a representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, in a comment for “Radio Svoboda” (“Radio Liberty”) stated that, according to data of Ukraine’s military intelligence, the probability of invasion by the russian occupation forces from the territory of Belarus over the coming weeks remains low.

“There is a certain mechanism to assess threats, there are certain markers by which we assess the probability of a particular action. We constantly monitor any changes in situation in Belarus. Today, Ukraine’s military intelligence doesn’t record signs of the creation of strike grouping in the territory of Belarus. In Belarus, the russian army carries out attacks on peaceful cities, towns and civilian infrastructure of Ukraine, conducts training and prepares mobilized personnel. Then, these conscripts are deployed in combat area. Discussion about the possible invasion of Ukraine from Belarus is an attempt to draw our troops away from area of combat actions,” the representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine stated.

According to Andrii Cherniak, Ukraine’s military intelligence monitors what is happening in the territory of Belarus because there are the russian military. “We don’t hide the fact that we have to carry out intelligence activity in Belarus. In a case of invasion, the occupant forces will be destroyed,” concluded the representative of Ukraine’s military intelligence.
