Military Intelligence veteran V. Kuzovenko is 89 years of age

On November 7, 2014, the Great Patriotic War veteran, one of the vividest person of Ukrainian military intelligence, retired Major-General Volodymyr Fedorovych Kuzovenko celebrated his 89th birthday.

When he was 17 years old, he has voluntarily enlisted in the front. During warfare, he personally destroyed 9 fascist tanks, a lot of other combat equipments and manpower of the enemy. He was wounded 4 times and 1 time seriously injured.

After finishing the Second World War, over 35 years of military service, he occupied the positions from the Chief of Staff of the reconnaissance battalion to the Chief of Intelligence Department of Military District. He held the posts of the Chief of Intelligence Directorate of Central Group of Soviet Troops, Far Eastern and Kiev Military Districts. During his military service and after it, General Kuzovenko has always distinguished his active public stand.

On the occasion of his birth day, the representatives of the leadership of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine and leading public organizations of veterans-intelligence men of Ukraine came to congratulate famous intelligence man.

Having thanked the visitors for the attention and gifts, Volodymyr Fedorovych, underscored: “Despite the birthday, today I’m upset about what is going on in my country. In due time, we regardless of nationality, together side by side with the Russians gained the victory over the enemy – Hitler fascism. I’ve never could imagine that former brothers in arms would become aggressors on our land. I hope that time will correct politicians’ errors and the history will put everything in the right places.”
