On the occasion of the Day of Independence of Ukraine, a presentation of the first volume of “Book of Memory of the Fallen Servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who defended the sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine” was held in the National Military and Historical Museum of Ukraine. The edition included biographical information of the natives of Vinnytsia, Volyn, Dnipro, Donetsk, Zhytomyr and Zakarpattia regions. The other two volumes are to include the biographical details of the fallen heroes from other regions of Ukraine.
This book was published on the initiative of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, Army General Stepan Poltorak. The employees of the National Military and Historical Museum of Ukraine and the volunteers of the site “Book of Memory of the Fallen in the name of Ukraine” worked alongside to compile it.
The presentation, which was launched by the Deputy Defence Minister of Ukraine on European Integration Ihor Dolhov, engaged the parents of scout Yurii Kovalenko, fallen Hero of Ukraine, as well as the families of other perished servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and from the National Guard.
Similar book presentations are planned to be held in Vinnytsia, Lutsk, Dnipro, Zhytomyr, Uzhhorod and other towns.
