During several days, the International Black Sea Intelligence Forum was held at the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine. Apart from the Ukrainian side, delegations of experts from the defence ministries of eight countries, headed by representatives of high authorities, took part in the event.
The forum was organized due to the recent significant deterioration of global and regional security situation because of aggressive actions of the Russian Federation and the need to find ways to resolve the situation by joint efforts of the countries of the region and leading countries of the world.
Briefings, plenary meetings and panel discussions were held during the forum to discuss and consider current and potential threats to regional and world security.In addition, one of the main threats to the national security of each of the countries–participants of the forum and the world security as a whole was determined aggressive actions of the Russian Federation, in particular, enhancement the Russian forces near by the borders of Ukraine and in the temporarily occupied Crimea as well as escalation of tension by the Russian side in Black Sea and Sea of Azov.
The leaders of delegations conducted a number of bilateral and multilateral meetings of high level held.
Minister of Defence of Ukraine General of the Army of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak, Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Lieutenant General Vasyl Burba and the representatives from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine took part in the forum.
Having analyzed in detail the intelligence data gained by the countries-participants regarding situation and tendencies of spreading of current and potential threats, the participants of forum determined ways to counteract the expansion of the Russian aggression in region and in the world.
