In Dnipropetrovsk, a memorial plaque was opened on the facade of school in honor of Kyrylo Andrienko, the alumnus – officer of 3rd separate regiment of Special ForcesIn due time, Kyrylo Andrienko finished the school with the golden medal and continued his education in the Army Academy named after hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi in Lviv.

For a short period of time, Kyrylo Andrienko became one of the best commanders of reconnaissance groups of elite military unit. It was his unit that was entrusted to defend the honor of Ukraine in international competitions “Cambrian Patrol-2013” that conducted in Great Britain among reconnaissance groups of Special Forces. Due to the high level training, Ukrainian Special Forces men won the bronze medal.

From the first days of holding of counterterrorist operation, the unit has been performing the most important reconnaissance missions under Kyrylo Andrienko’s command. For the successful accomplishment of combat missions, he was early promoted to Captain.

On July 29, 2014, during the searching of pilot from the Ukrainian plane that were shot down, Special Forces men got into an ambush. Captain Andrienko was killed trying to penetrate from surrounding.

According to the Decree of the President of Ukraine, for personal courage and heroism displayed in protection of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, loyalty to the oath of allegiance, Captain Andrienko Kyrylo Leonidovych was posthumously awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi 3rd Class.
