– Volunteers, experts of the Centre for Development and Logistic Support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have done much work, – Stepan Poltorak said. – Now we need to negotiate the approval of these specifications with specialized ministries and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. We do not have the right to stop in our effort to reform and improve the logistics for servicemen.

The new specifications increase the assortment of dishes, which currently include 18 variants. The calorific value of new field rations composes 3500 kcal, while the enhanced option, for the servicemen in the area of anti-terrorist operation, – 4200 kcal per day. In addition, NATO experience was taken into account regarding calorific value and packaging, but when it came down to the types of food - preference was given to national cuisine.

Moreover, a new packaging system will be used, which will eliminate the need for heat treatment, provide portability and convenience in use.
