Dear colleagues, combat brothers!

The whole history of Ukrainian nation it is a primordial struggle for freedom and the right to live in independent and sovereign state.

This struggle is going on and nowadays. Today, the East of Ukraine is an object of concentration of civilized world’s attention, where the fierce conflict since the Second World War has been going on and in which we are withstanding together to the insidious aggressor.

The military insanity of Russia is strengthening day after day, and it is Ukraine that became as a unique bastion on the way of spreading “Kremlin plague” to Europe.

Fortitude, courage and self-sacrificingness of warriors who are nowadays protecting our native land, were passed on from many generations of defenders of Ukrainian land. Warriors are worthy of successors of glorious military traditions and victories of our ancestors. Their heroic struggle honored with dignity by Ukrainian society with establishment of a new state holiday – the Day of Defender of Ukraine that will celebrate on October 14, annually. It has a deep historic basis, so far as this date unites symbolic for Ukrainian nation – the feast of the Intercession of the Mother of God, the Ukrainian Cossacks’ Day and the Day of Ukrainian Insurgent Army.

This holiday of all those people who is involved in the protecting of our Motherland, and the day of memory of those who laid down their lives. I’m confident that it will unite our society before new challenges and threats.

Nowadays, reconnaissance men have done a significant contribution in ensuring of national security of Ukraine, have performed the primary missions on threatening directions, bringing closer a Great Victory.

I express my gratitude for self-devoted service and selfless work.

I sincerely congratulate you on Ukrainian Defender’s Day and I wish all of you peace, goodness, happiness, enthusiasm and belief in the best future!
