In the course of the NCO exercise held at the training range in Zhytomyr region, Petro Poroshenko instructed Ukrainian Minister of Defence to increase salary of NCOs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

“Mr. Minister, I entrust You to increase payment of NCOs. I don’t think it is good when the difference between military salary of contractors who have just started their military service and sergeants who have been serving for years is 200-400 hryvnias. It is inadmissible,” the Head of State addressed to General of the Army of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak.

“We have raised the overall amount of payment. Today, we must ensure professional development of specialists, sergeants, junior commanders. In addition to patriotic motivation, they should have financial motivation as well. The Government is capable of that. I would ask to put it into life and to apprise me” the President added.

“Mr. Minister of Defence, it is important to ensure new conditions in the training ranges. I instruct to allocate UAH 140 million to “Shyrokyi Lan” training range, at least UAH 50 million – to Yavoriv training range, UAH 50 million to Berdychiv training range for Special Forces’ personnel training. In the shortest term, we must ensure proper conditions for NCOs,” Petro Poroshenko said.

“The training level of Ukrainian warrior and NCOs will ensure the efficiency of the Armed Forces and our victory,” the President of Ukraine emphasized.
