Defence Intelligence of Ukraine informs that the propagandists of the occupying country continue the active phase of the information operation Perun’. It is aimed at destabilizing the political situation in Ukraine and Western countries as well as "creating conditions for solving the problems" of the so-called special military operation. The operation ‘Perun’ is also taking place in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and in most regions of the russian federation.

Units of the federal service of the national guard troops of the occupying country of the russian federation and spies of the main directorate of intelligence of the russian federation are involved in the operation.

Kremlin propagandists instruct the spies of rosgvardiya to carry out activities, in particular:

to discredit Ukrainian and Western pro-Ukrainian politicians, accusing them of corruption and betrayal of interests of Ukraine;

to justify the aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine and to highlight the situation around our State from positions favorable to the kremlin;

the spread of disinformation in the media space about the alleged ‘normalization of life’ in the Ukrainian territories enslaved by russia with the direct participation of the russian leadership in this;

the formation of the image of ‘Ukrainian Nazis’ in the russian and European media space, etc.

According to the russian methodology, the kremlin’s special services should talk about the events in Ukraine in the first half of 2024, using both well-known and newly invented fake narratives: about the alleged planning of a coup d'état in Kyiv, accusing Ukraine of starting hostilities in Donbas, the mass murder of pro-russian activists in Odesa, and so on.

The day of the so-called presidential elections in russia has been defined as the peak of the intensification of propaganda activities. The occupiers plan to complete operation ‘Perun’ by June 30 this year.
