New elite of a new army
In conditions of modern world, cloaked in communication web of mass media, social networks and simply human communication, to hold back the truth or to try to pass the desirable for reality, it seems that is practically impossible. Especially it is concerning the events in the East of Ukraine suffering from the flame of war. Whatever “heroic deeds” don’t attribute to the pompous politicians and dressed up in jubilee medals grey bureaucrats themselves – the Ukrainians sooner or later find out, who is who. They have got to know about both cowards and bamboozlers, and about real Heroes of Ukraine – modest but brave, unconversable but with the clear understanding of military honour and their duty to protect Motherland.
About today’s war, its methods, logistics and participants, it is possible to hear ten thousands of opinions from the dirtiest lie to frankly flattering dithyrambs. But there is no a single negative word about the activity of the 3rd separate regiment of Special Forces. And the fact that guys perform their man’s work with honour, understand all Ukraine.
The command of regiment began to prepare the personnel to the active combat actions after the beginning of Russian annexation of the Crimea. At that time Special Forces’ personnel were ready to act on the occupied peninsula, but they didn’t receive an order. The scouts are actually able to estimate the situation and predict the future as no one, therefore they understood that the war would come on the territory of continental Ukraine in the near future. Reconnaissance groups of regiment were manned, equipped and it was put in order the weapons and military equipments as far as possible financing.
Regiment has taken part in counterterrorist operation from the first days. The command charged exactly Special Forces’ personnel to perform the most important and the most dangerous tasks. And the belief in Special Forces’ men proved correct. Having been several weeks in full enemy’s surrounding near Sloviansk or Savur-Mohyla, they defended Ukrainian land. They withstood the attacks of Russian tanks and burnt them near Ilovaisk. They engaged more than once in battle with elite enemy’s units, they got severe wounds but gained a victory. They were the first who entered into the towns that were crowded with armed terrorists, released inhabitants-hostages and they the first who raised the Ukrainian Flags over the buildings of municipal administrations. They, having gone through the hell, didn’t lose humaneness and shared the products with civilians. They … have become real military elite of whom a new Ukrainian army and state are proud!
There was gladness of victories, the pain of defeat and losses, the captivity and funerals of friends, but for all the time of war there was any repudiation to perform combat order, neither retreat from battlefield nor one escape or treason.
At present time, it is not mentioned in press about the battles near Luhansk and about heroic defence of Donetsk airport, is not mentioned because it’s a secret and it’s not a time. About several operations conducted by the reconnaissance groups on this war, we, it is possible, will find out in ten of years or we have never found out. They will receive neither combat orders nor gratitude from command nor benefits from state for them.
Sooner or later, peace will come in Ukraine. “Heroic veterans” will appear on television screens and in newspaper columns, who having sat out in deep rear will bawl “I was at war and shed my blood for you” thus requiring various awards and privileges. Only the names and the photos of fallen combat sworn brothers that are engraved on marble gravestone and yellow and blue flags raised in every liberated town by them from calamity, and at a present time filled with the gladness and children’s laugh, even in the smallest town of Ukrainian Free, Independent and Integral state will remind about accomplished feats to the servicemen of 3rd separate regiment of Special Forces. And for us, they will be new elite of new army. Because, it is impossible to hide the truth.
