Kostiantyn Kholodov, a military chaplain of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, told about the contemporary mission of military chaplaincy at the Ukrainian army on the air of “1+1” TV channel.

“A chaplain today is an integral part of the Ukrainian army. He will be always in his military unit. He will know the problems of every soldier. Every officer. In order to know these problems, it is necessary to join the rank. If you are in the rank, you are their guy. The chaplain mission is not confession. A chaplain is a universal officer who performs general functions that apply to every soldier, even an atheist. He helps a soldier to serve. He helps a soldier to perform combat and non-combat tasks,” Kostiantyn Kholodov said.

The military chaplain of Ukraine’s military intelligence also expressed his attitude towards forgiveness of enemies and the attitude of the Ukrainian servicemen towards them.

“Murders of civilian residents cannot be forgiven. Looting and rape cannot be forgiven. These are not to be forgive. This is an encouragement of evil. We have no right to encourage evil. Evil must be stopped. They want to destroy us for being Ukrainians. If we allow this, then there will be no Ukrainian nation. God gave us the land. We must live on it and decorate it”, summed up the military chaplain of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.
