The book’s author Liudmyla Mykolaivna Opronenko-Klopova had to communicate with specific readers at the event which was held at Odesa Regional Organization of the National Union of Ukrainian Journalists. Cadets of the faculty of preparation of specialists of military intelligence and Special Forces who have experience in warfare, parents and brothers-in-arms of fallen heroes were all there.
This book comprises accounts about 106 warriors of Odessa who fell in Donbas and 6 alumni of the Military Academy. In point of fact, it is the first book of such content in which the author speaks about faithful sons of the Odesa region who left to defend Homeland in 2014-2016 and did not come back.
– Now, I am more certain than ever that it was my obligation to publish this book. It is short, with only several lines about some warriors, but may my effort become the beginning of a greater path of commemorating the memory of our courageous, heroically perished men. It was once said that if a war was to begin, nobody would defend our country. It is not true – there are those who can defend; their photos are before us, but they are unfortunately no longer among us – the living, – the author of the book “Chronology of heroism” stressed.
