President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi reports about the rescue of the first group of our citizens from the Gaza Strip.

“Ukraine has successfully evacuated its first group of 43 Ukrainian nationals from Gaza. They are now safe in Egypt,” he wrote.

Volodymyr Zelenskyi added that the evacuation of our citizens from the Gaza Strip continues.

The operation to rescue the Ukrainians is being carried out by the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine jointly with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine under the general supervision of the President of Ukraine.

As noted by the Head of State, Ukraine also helped to evacuate 36 Moldovan citizens from the combat zone within the operation.

“We are happy to help our friendly neighbors,” Volodymyr Zelenskyi said.

President of Moldova Maia Sandu has already expressed her gratitude to the leaders of Romania and Ukraine for their assistance.

In April 2023, Ukrainian military intelligence officers successfully evacuated 87 Ukrainian citizens from war-torn Sudan, and in September 2021, they carried out an unprecedented operation to rescue our citizens and foreigners from Taliban-controlled Afghanistan.
