Addressing the personnel of Academy, the President of Ukraine emphasized that now, more than ever, the issue of officer training is actual, especially an officer who is a leader, patriot and professional. “Your staff copes successfully with this task, posting well-trained and educated specialists to the army,” – Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted.
Having mentioned that over Ukraine’s independence, six thousands highly qualified specialists have been trained at the Academy, President said: “Heroic deeds of graduates committed in battles against the invaders – Russian servicemen and trained bandits are carved with golden letters in the recent history of the Academy”. Over 200 graduates of the Academy have been awarded with state awards for courage and heroism. Four former graduates were awarded with the highest state award – the Gold Star of the Hero of Ukraine. They are Majors Oleksandr Petrakivskyi and Oleksandr Porhun, Captain Volodymyr Hryniuk, First Lieutenant Yevhenii Zelenskyi.
President with the attendees honoured the memory of 43 graduates of the Academy who performed their military duty till the end and heroically sacrificed their lives for the peaceful future of Ukraine, with a minute of silence
President called 300 cadets – ATO participants – “a gold fund of our country and our troops”. Significant part of the commanding and the teaching staff of the Academy side-by-side with their cadets defend the Motherland from Russian aggression. “Such field training allows to get an objective evaluation of the training and to work out necessary combat experience, the price of which is victory,” – said the Head of State.
