Address by the Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine on the Occasion of the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation as Well as 75th Anniversary of the Victory over Nazism in the Second World War

May 8, 2020
-

Dear colleagues!

On the eighth of May, Ukraine together with the world community celebrates the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation, and on the ninth of May - the 75th anniversary of victory over Nazism in the Second World War. The whole civilized world will always remember invaluable contribution of the Ukrainian people to the victory of the Anti-Hitler Coalition over Nazism.

These May days we recall veterans of the war, the Ukrainian liberation movement, all those who through their bravery and self-sacrifice won peace and liberty for many nations.

In the Second World War, Ukraine had a heroic role, and at the same time a tragic one. Unity of society around the consciousness of this truth will further promote an effective confrontation to external challenges and threats - first of all, from the side of the Russian Federation.

Ukraine today, as in the years of that bloody war, is an epicenter of confrontation to the aggressor and an important factor of whole European security.

May heroism of warriors of the Second World War inspire us for new victories. No one will be able to conquer Ukrainian people!

We are the winners! And this feeling is a source of our pride and strength!

Glory to Ukraine!
