The Defence Attaché at the US Embassy in Ukraine, Brigadier General Kipling Kahler, has solemnly awarded the officer of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine's Strategic Communications Unit with the Medal of Merit.

The award was presented to the intelligence officer for his important contribution to the development and strengthening of military cooperation between official Kyiv and Washington, in particular, for creating conditions for receiving and increasing the volume of security assistance for Ukraine.

The DIU's officer expressed gratitude for the support of the American people, the US government and all Ukraine's partners in NATO, which is critical to repelling full-scale russian aggression.

"Ukraine, repelling russian aggression, protects not only itself but also the entire free world, international order and security. This award emphasises that our partners are also aware of this and appreciate it," said the officer of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.

In his remarks, Kipling Kahler assured of the unwavering American support for Ukraine and stressed that the courage and heroism of Ukrainians is a model for the entire free world in the pursuit of freedom, protection of sovereignty, independence and Euro-Atlantic choice of their country.
