Ukraine of the future is a reliable partner and ally for the United States, as we have one of the strongest armies on the continent, unique military experience, including in the using of the latest technologies, and attractive business prospects in the military-industrial complex.

This was stated by Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov during his welcoming speech to the participants of the U.S.-Ukraine Business Forum, which took place on February 5, 2025 as part of the Ukrainian Week in Washington.

The event, organised by the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council in partnership with the Atlantic Council, brought together representatives of business, government officials and experts.

“Post-war Ukraine will have one of the strongest armies on the continent, as well as unique experience, technology and a powerful military-industrial complex. And therefore, there will be wide opportunities for the private sector to expand defence production. Businessmen of the United States and Ukraine, as well as the governments of our countries are already closely cooperating in this direction,” said Kyrylo Budanov.

DIU Chief reminded that one of the main reasons for russia’s war against Ukraine is to seize our country, our natural resources and military-industrial complex in order to use them against Western countries in the future. He stressed that Ukraine appreciates the significant support from the American people in the fight against the aggressor state of russia.

Kyrylo Budanov stressed that with this support, Ukraine will be able to become the main U.S. ally in the region and a reliable partner in the new world reality, where freedom and security are unshakable values.
