Vasyl Ishchenko served in the 131st separate reconnaissance battalion. On March 10, 2020, he was severely wounded at the Joint Forces Operation area. He had to undergo through several difficult surgeries.

Vasyl treated in Dnipro Regional Clinical Hospital, then in Odesa Military Hospital, and he is currently undergoing rehabilitation in Irpin Hospital.

Recently, Vasyl’s countrymen from Teplytskyi district Vinnytsia region attended him. They gave Vasyl sweets and financial assistance from countrymen from Vinnytsia region. Staff of Velykomochulska Village Council and school, as well as Polohiv School and Teplytska Regional State Administration were involved in gathering assistance.

In addition, head of the District State Administration Oleh Pobirskyi handed awards – an order and merit certificate from the Regional State Administration and Regional Council to Vasyl Ishchenko.
