One of the main tasks, set before Roman Mashovets, is to complete the drawing up National Security and Defence Strategy of Ukraine and other important documents.

Roman Mashovets also stressed the importance of revising some documents relating to defence and security sector. According to him, it is necessary to establish clear coordination and cooperation between legislative and executive branches of power, as well as the Office of President for comprehensive solution of urgent problems.
