In February 2024, the Special Forces personnel of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, as part of the Security and Defence Forces, defended Avdiivka and then, together with the soldiers of the Special Operations Forces, the “Patrol” Special Operations Detachment of the State Border Guard Service, the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade, the 225th Separate Assault Battalion, and the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, provided an evacuation corridor for our troops. Significant losses were inflicted on the advancing russian assault units, slowing down their advance, which allowed the defenders of Avdiivka to be brought to prepared positions. During the defensive operation in the Avdiivka direction, reconnaissance units used Ukrainian-made “Sikach” and “Kharakternyk” combat armoured vehicles, which proved themselves excellently in combat conditions.
