The Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine posthumously awarded Taras Lavriv, a defender of Ukraine, with “For Courage while Performing Special Tasks” award.

This is stated on the page of Suspilne Movlennia of Ukraine.

The award was presented to the hero “for personal courage and selfless actions, displayed in protection of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, adherence to oath of allegiance”. The order on bestowing the award was signed on December 13, 2022, by Major General Kyrylo Budanov, Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.

Taras Lavriv headed Dolyn Children’s Art School. He made music; he was a guitarist of the "Iron Cross" band. He established combat hopak school named after Ivan Bohun in Dolyn.

On February 25, 2022, the hero went to defend the country and joined the ranks of the “Azov” regiment right after the full-scale invasion of the russian troops in Ukraine.

Taras Lavriv perished in a battle against the russian invaders during the defence of Mariupol.
