In the studied samples of guided missiles of the Tornado-S multiple launch rocket system used by the aggressor state of russia against Ukraine, the simultaneous use of two fiber-optic gyroscopes was revealed:
The use of two gyroscopes simultaneously is intended to increase the accuracy of the hit by obtaining two arrays of information about the object's current position in space.
The foreign and russian devices have a similar structure: they consist of three Sanyak ring interferometers placed in three orthogonal axes and electronics boards.
The electronics of the russian unit are assembled using a programmable gate array by Altera Cyclone (USA), while the foreign unit uses a microcontroller by STMicroelectronics (Switzerland).
In addition, the russian unit contains components from the United States (Analog Devices, National Semiconductor, Maxim Integrated), China (Panwoo Equipment Consulting, Mornsun), Switzerland (STMicroelectronics), and the United Kingdom (Golledge Electronics).
The component's complete list and photos have already been published on the War&Sanctions portal.
