DIU expands datasets on Iranian “shahed-107”, russian “orion” and “phoenix” UAVs
March 9, 2026

The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine has released updated data in its "Components in Weapons" section regarding the cooperation of enterprises involved in the production of the “orion” UAV, as well as foreign components found in the Iranian “shahed-107” and the russian “phoenix” UAV.

The “orion” (also known as the “inokhodets”) is a strike and reconnaissance drone manufactured by the sanctioned russian “kronstadt group”. The DIU has previously published an interactive 3D model of the drone and a list of companies involved in its production chain.

An additional 19 companies have now been added to the database. These firms manufacture components for anti-icing and fuel systems, flight and navigation equipment, and elements of the electronic command-and-information system. Consequently, the total number of enterprises in the database involved in the production of the “orion” UAV has risen to 70.

Furthermore, the DIU has added 30 electronic components identified in the Iranian “shahed-107” UAV used by the enemy, as well as in the “qir50tpro” gyro-stabilized electro-optical system of the russian “phoenix” reconnaissance drone.

The DIU had previously released an interactive model and the component base for the shahed-107. The current update supplements this with 15 additional components discovered in another specimen of this drone used by the aggressor.

Recent events in the Middle East demonstrate that the weaponry russia uses against Ukraine today poses a threat of terror and strikes against civilian infrastructure in other regions of the world. The publication of such data aims to consolidate international efforts to counter the proliferation and use of such weapon systems.
