Award winners of the program “Human of the year - 2015” were chosen
International and special awards of the all-national program “Human of the year” founded in 2001 have always been significant. With the program awards, Ukrainians honor outstanding politicians and social activists, diplomats and benefactors, representatives of culture and art of the world for sincere love to Ukraine, for respect to our history and traditions, for their direct contribution to the development of the Ukrainian state.
Today, the world’s support of our struggle for independence and democratic values, for sincere acknowledgement of this struggle is really necessary for us as never before, that’s why the names of the prize winners of the anniversary program inspire particular honor and respect among Ukrainians.
According to the decision of the Council of the Program, the winner of the international award “For selfless service for people” became the American of Ukrainian origin doctor Zenia Chernyk.
Doctor Zenia Chernyk has been very active in public activity, constantly working for the benefit of Ukraine and helping people. Ms. Chernyk is a leader of Ukrainian community of the USA and is the head of the Ukrainian Federation of America. Thanks to her efforts, in Ukraine and the USA, many humanitarian and medical programs were founded and fulfilled.
Taking into account the events in Ukraine during the last two years, Dr. Chernyk arranged a special project “Become a hero for the hero” with the help of which the Federation had an opportunity to give medical aid in the USA to the heavily wounded defenders of Ukraine, including reconnaissance men. The Federation has transferred more than 7 million dollars to the needs of the wounded heroes of Ukraine for only a year.
We sincerely congratulate Ms. Chernyk with a high award and wish new success in her difficult, but honorable work needed to Ukraine!
The solemn award ceremony of “The Human of the Year – 2015” will be on March, 26, 2016 in the National Palace of Arts “Ukraine”. This day, there will be an exhibition of patriotic posters “Ukraine is we”.
