“Development of the roadmap for the implementation of the provisions of the U.S.-Ukraine Strategic Defence Framework signed in August in Washington is of utmost importance for all analytical units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and for national security system in general,” Brigadier General Kyrylo Budanov, the Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, said.

According to him, components of cyber intelligence and cyber security, intelligence activity in general have to be a priority in development of this roadmap to implement the Strategic Defence Framework, because a global world depends on cyber space and information systems. For this reason, intelligence activity has become more and more system-related and of different aspects.

“We have to be in step with the modern world and very quickly adopt and absorb all innovations for strengthening the state’s defence. That’s exactly why the development of the roadmap to implement the U.S.-Ukraine Strategic Defence Framework should become such modernization plan, analogue of which did not exist over the years of Independence in Ukraine. It is up to us to fill the document with specific projects, specific plans and deadlines,” Kyrylo Budanov stressed.

According to the head of Ukraine’s military intelligence, our state is interested in effective cooperation and interaction with American partners as never before. Level of their training, innovation and technical support of defence area and intelligence activity, in particular – a huge experience of conducting special operations – these are that necessary to adopt both for modernization of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and for further Euro Atlantic integration of our state and society in defence area. It is clearly that the implementation of the U.S.-Ukraine Strategic Defence Framework opens also great opportunities for modernization of the Ukrainian intelligence.
