On August 22, 2025, the day before Ukraine's National Flag Day, a powerful explosion occurred in the temporarily occupied Kalinove, part of the Kadiivka municipal community in the Alchevsk district of Luhansk region.

The detonation happened in the yard of a house where six russian occupiers were gathered with their military vehicles.

According to intelligence, these russian invaders directly participated in the war crimes committed in Bucha, Kyiv region, back in 2022.

In the Luhansk region, the occupiers served as a mobile air defense group, covering a nearby enemy military repair base from Ukrainian air strikes.

As a result of the explosion, Ukrainian forces destroyed two enemy pickup trucks equipped with machine guns, a UAZ "Bukhanka" van loaded with ammunition, and eliminated three russian soldiers. Two more invaders were severely wounded.

The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine reminds: for every war crime committed against the Ukrainian people, there will be just retribution.
