On the eve of the Day of Defender of Ukraine, during a solemn ceremony five more names of the heroes-intelligence officers are written in the Book of Glory.

Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Colonel-General Vasyl Burba handed extracts from the Book of Glory to the parents and relatives of the heroes-intelligence officers.

– Deep respect and gratitude to the Ukrainian patriots and professionals of their affair. Valour and selflessness of the warriors, who are nowadays defending our country, were inherited them from many generations of defenders of the Ukrainian land. I believe that in this heroic struggle the Ukrainian people will win and peace will come on our land. Glory to intelligence officers and Glory to Ukraine, – the Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine said during his speech.

The Book of Glory of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine was established with the aim of perpetuating the memory of individuals, who made a significant contribution to the development of military intelligence of Ukraine, who displayed courage and bravery while performing combat and special tasks, protecting sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine, and who achieved significant successes in military service and work. In prior years, the names of the Hero of Ukraine Senior Lieutenant Yevhenii Zelenskyi, who was killed while performing a combat task, the Hero of Ukraine Major General Maksym Shapoval, who was killed as a result of a bold terrorist attack by Russian diversionists as well as other intelligence officers who laid their lives for the sake of Ukraine, were written in the Book.
