Heavy Losses and Low Bonuses Stall russia's Recruitment Drive in the Regions
October 22, 2025

russia's plan to replenish its occupying forces is faltering, particularly in the country's poorest areas, including the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

According to internal documents from russia's ministry of defence, the low recruitment rates are caused by inadequate regional bonuses and the reluctance of local authorities to support moscow's mobilization campaign.

On average, recruitment offices in Yakutia are falling short by about 40% of the quotas set by the kremlin.

Another major factor behind this failure is the heavy losses suffered by local populations — including Yakuts, Evenks, and Evens — who are increasingly unwilling to die for moscow's imperial ambitions.

A similar trend is being observed across other Far Eastern regions of russia.
