By tradition, the solemn opening ceremony began with reciting the Quran and a collective prayer. Brigadier General Dmytro Usov, a representative of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the Head of the Center for International Relations "Peace and Security" Husameddin Al-Khalawani, chaplains Kostiantyn Kholodov and Suleiman Khairullayev, and Muslim servicemen of the DIU attended the event.

"Regular Friday prayers and gatherings for Muslims are planned here, where they will be able to learn to read the Quran and strengthen their spiritual faith," said Suleiman Khairullayev.

The new mosque is fully equipped for religious rituals, including copies of the Quran in two languages — Arabic and Ukrainian.

"For a Muslim, a mosque is a place where he can gain spiritual strength, which is crucial for a warrior. The opening of this mosque is a significant example for all of Ukraine and a great gift for all Muslims serving the country," said Husameddin Al-Khalawani, Head of the Center for International Relations "Peace and Security."
