In Odesa, Street Has Been Named after Vsevolod Zmiienko, a Renowned Intelligence Officer of the Ukrainian People’s RepublicIn the centre of Odesa, Vsevolod Zmiienko Street – the head of the intelligence service of the Ukrainian People’s Republic (UPR) – was created.

Vsevolod Zmiienko took an active part in the formation of the UPR’s army, organising resistance to the russian occupiers in Odesa, and in the liberation struggle of our country against the russians, both red and white.

For his significant contribution during the war for Ukraine’s independence, including in the de-occupation of Kyiv from the russians and during the Battle for Zamostia with budionnyi’s army, he was awarded the rank of Khorunzhii-General.

In 1928-1936, he headed Ukrainian intelligence and counterintelligence in exile.

The street was renamed in honour of the renowned Ukrainian military leader in accordance an order of the Odesa Regional Military Administration.

We thank the community, the regional authorities in Odesa, activists, historians and specialists of the regional office of the Institute of National Memory for restoring and preserving the memory of the outstanding Ukrainian intelligence officer Vsevolod Zmiienko!
