Based on the mural in Kyiv's Podil district, a postage stamp, a computer game, a monobank card skin, and a collection of clothing by a Ukrainian brand have been issued.
All for the sake of raising funds for "Magura" surface drone for the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.
On September 19, in Kyiv's Podil district, on the wall of 51 Nyzhniy Val Street, a mural "The Wise Dominates the Stars" by artist Volodymyr Manzhos was unveiled.
The "MODERN UKRAINE" Charitable Foundation, with the support of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, asked the internationally recognised Ukrainian artist to develop an art project taking into account the specifics of the context, both social and political, giving the artist freedom of creativity.
In the story of the mural, the artist refers to the successful operations of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine: attacks by "Magura" marine drones as part of joint operations with the SBU and the Ukrainian Navy, which forced the russian black sea fleet to almost completely surrender and caused it significant losses, including the destruction of the fleet's flagship.
The foreground of the mural depicts an owl, which is a symbol of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, surfing on a stormy sea, confidently keeping its posture and controlling the situation, with a hand behind it, symbolising the invisible work of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, which sets the tone for all actions: the work of "Magura" drones and the destruction of russian military bases and ships in the Black Sea. Below is the DIU's motto "Sapiens Dominabitur Astris", and in the sky we see the stars themselves – the constellation Taurus, which symbolises Ukraine.
"We dedicate this mural and the entire project to our brave intelligence officers and thank them for the successful special operations at sea and beyond,"says Volodymyr Havrysh, President of the "Modern Ukraine" Charitable Foundation, an initiator of the project. "Today, the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine is one of the best military intelligence agencies in the world and, of course, one of the most effective structures within the Defence Forces of Ukraine. During the full-scale invasion, the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine has developed its unique approach to the development and conduct of the operations, which is admired by the whole world."
The unveiling of the mural was a continuation of the "GURKIT from GUR" ("The Rumble from DIU") campaign, which also included the presentation of the computer game "Gurkit (Rumble) on the Swamps" at https://gurkit.io/, where everyone can try themselves as an operator of a modern Ukrainian surface drone "Magura", and donate to its purchase.
"Ukraine has always been a maritime state, and today we honour those who defend our water borders every day. This mural is not just a decoration of the city, it is a tribute to all the heroes who risk their lives every day for the sake of Ukraine's freedom," says Andrii Yusov, a representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine. We stand before a symbol of invincibility that reminds us that victory is not only in our hearts, but also in every wave of the sea, in every military operation and in every act of bravery. I thank everyone who made this mural possible and everyone who is fighting for our victory."
The partner of the creation of mural was "Epicenter", a national network of shopping centers.
The event also included the launch of a limited edition of 300 postage stamps based on the mural and signed by the author, as well as a limited version signed by Kyrylo Budanov, the presentation of an exclusive "skin" for Monobank cards based on the mural, and the presentation of a themed merchandise drop by SYNDICATE based on the mural.
