Successful liberation of Sloviansk made Ukrainians believe in their defenders

July 5, 2016
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko congratulated residents of Sloviansk and Kramatorsk, and servicemen on the 2nd anniversary of liberation of these towns from Russian terrorist troops

Petro Poroshenko thanked the personnel of the 95th, 80th, 25th Airborne troops brigades, 24th separate mechanized brigade, 3rd Special Forces regiment, military units, the units of the rocket artillery regiments, army aviation, Ukrainian National Guards units and other military formations for successful operation.

President of Ukraine noted those days of liberation of Sloviansk and Kramatorsk can be rightly considered as a pivotal moment in the rebirthing of the Armed Forces: “Just then, the renewed Armed Forces passed its first combat test in this truly national war. It was an exam that not every army of the world is able to pass. It is very important to pass it so quickly, and, in fact, be born again, creating a new Armed Forces of Ukraine from the ground up”.
