This was stated by Vadym Skibitskyi, a representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
“Everything that is currently produced by russia is immediately sent to the front and used against Ukraine. That’s why we don’t see moscow significantly increasing the number of weapons and the volume of production of weapons and military equipment,” explained Skibitskyi.
The removal of almost all shells from belarus, as well as the purchase of ammunition from North Korea and Iran, confirms the fact that the aggressor state of russia lacks its own weapons.
Also, according to Vadym Skibitskyi, moscow is trying to maintain a strategic reserve of missiles at the level of 30%.
“If we talk about the produced cruise missiles, then during the attacks, products of the third and fourth quarter [of 2023] were recorded. This once again indicates that their stocks are not very large, and what is produced is immediately used against our state,” the representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine noted.
The situation with "Shahed" drones is similar. The aggressor has now learned how to manufacture bodies for these drones and has organized two production lines in the city of yelabuha, where attack UAVs assembles from domestic and imported components.
“moscow’s goal is to reach a full, closed-loop production cycle of these UAVs in russia by 2026. I'm not sure if they will be able to replace or find a russian equivalent, for example, of the electronic base – microcircut, chips, etc. However, russia is currently capable of manufacturing launchers, the body, warhead, engines, and other elements of the navigation system,” said Vadym Skibitskyi.
The representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine said that in December 2023, russia launched a total of 770-780 attack drones “shahed” at our territory.
“December showed that even if the enemy had some stocks, they are now exhausted, and all these UAVs that are being launched are literally coming from the assembly line,” Vadym Skibitskyi said.
