The opening ceremony was attended by members of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine - the combat brothers of the hero, military cadets, representatives of the public and the clergy.
- Ukraine has lost a true patriot, officer and brave son of our Homeland. The enemy was unable to defeat him in open battle and committed an insidious crime, - said Major General Oleg Ivashchenko, First Deputy Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine - Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The honorary right to unveil the monument to the Hero of Ukraine was given to the commander of a training group, ATO participant Junior Sergeant Oleksandr Tymoshenko.
The shots of a cadet firing party were heard. Servicemen of the Honor Guards Company laid a wreath at the monument. The attendants honored the Hero’s memory with a minute of silence.
The monument was consecrated by the head of the Synodal department of the military clergy of Ukraine UOC KP Metropolitan Ioan.
Now the granite bust of the Hero stands on the Heroes’ Alley of the Military Institute of Telecommunications and Informatization.
