The National Defense University of Ukraine opened a commemorative exhibit in the honor of the outstanding reconnaissance man Vadym Kokorin

The former chief of intelligence of the 40th Army, Honorary Fellow of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, Associate Professor of the National Defense University named after Ivan Cherniakhovskii, Major General Vadym Oleksiyovych Kokorin died a year ago.

A commemorative exhibit in his honor was opened in the University after two years of his death.

Representatives of the leadership and teaching staff of the intelligence department of the educational establishment, the authorities of the DIU and the Military Intelligence Veterans’ Fund of Ukraine, friends and family of Vadym Oleksiyovych participated in the opening.

Vadym Kokorin headed the intelligence of the limited contingent of the Soviet troops in the Democratic Republic of Congo from 1985 till 1987. Since 1998, having served in intelligence for almost 30 years, General Kokorin taught at the intelligence department of the National Academy of Defense of Ukraine, now, it is the National Defense University of Ukraine named after Ivan Cherniakhovskii.

Passing his invaluable combat experience to the young generations of Ukrainian scouts, Vadym Oleksiyovych participated in preparation of a great number of specialists of operational-tactical and operational-strategic levels for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other defense and law-enforcement agencies of our state.

At the end of the interview, we asked General Kokorin about his dreams, then. Vadym Oleksiyovych answered: “As a person, who gave many years of life to the Armed Forces and intelligence, I only dream of a modern, combat-ready, highly professional Ukrainian Armed Forces with a powerful and efficient intelligence component”.

The armed aggression of Russia against Ukraine proves how important it is to our state now, that the dream of the outstanding scout has become a reality.
