Judo tournaments are not new for the regional center – they were held annually for 10 years for the prizes of Olympic champion Serhii Novikov, but drastic times call for new measures. Russia’s armed aggression against our state, the anti-terrorist operation on Donbas, the participation of the scouts of a separate regiment stationed in the town spurred organizers to rename the traditional youthful competitions among judoists. From henceforth, the tournament will be dedicated to the Day of Military Intelligence of Ukraine.

At the opening ceremony the participants of the tournament were greeted by the Head of Regional Judo Federation Andrii Tabalov, legendary scout Hero of Ukraine Colonel Oleksandr Trepak, a participant of the Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro Kedzhau Nyabali The tournament was held in two age groups, among the adolescents of 2004–2005 and 2006–2007 years of birth, and it gathered more than 350 judoists from 10 regions of Ukraine in total.
