A memorial plaque in honor of scout Yurii Butusov was opened in Chernihiv
In Chernihiv, in the front of a building at Mstyslavskyi Street, where scout lived, a memorial plaque in his honor was opened.
Hero’s mother Nadiia Oleksandrivna, the representatives of Chernihiv military garrison, the lyceum with enhanced military-physical education, local authorities, friends and relatives were present at the event.
Yurii Butusov served in the separate Special Forces regiment and held the position of the leader of the reconnaissance group of Special Forces. He participated in the antiterrorist operation from its first days.
A reconnaissance group under his command successfully performed a lot of combat tasks in the ATO area. In February 2015, during performing of combat task, Captain Butusov received serious wound, as a result of which, he died.
He was posthumously awarded the order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi 3rd degree and was bestowed a title of “People’s Hero of Ukraine”.
