Having held agitation campaign on vaccination against coronavirus with “Sputnik V” drugs in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, the Russian Federation is not actually using this vaccine there but its single-component analogue “Sputnik Light”, thereby misleading the people.
“Sputnik Light”, developed on the basis of “Sputnik V” vaccine, has not received approval for using from the European Medical Agency and the World Health Organization. WHO’s approval is important for the distribution of the vaccine within Global Access to Coronavirus Vaccines initiative, which also provides a vaccine for poor countries.
Today, all that Russia can provide to its sub-republics in Donbas are vaccines, which the world's poorest countries are only used, whereas in contrast Ukraine has been vaccinating its citizens with the best and the most expensive vaccines, used by all civilized countries. And even Russia does it unofficially, trying to hide the facts of bringing the vaccine in the territory of certain areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
Inhabitants of the so-called Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republic may become banal laboratory guinea-pigs for Russian pharmacists, who are testing a new version of their “Sputnik Light” vaccine before offering it to the Russians.
The Russian one-component vaccine “Sputnik Light” can have many times more side effects than two-component vaccine “Sputnik V”.
Having tested dubious vaccine on inhabitants of the so-called LPR and DPR, Russia will not be responsible for any deaths or illnesses; while the result of its testing on the Russian citizens will fall entirely on the shoulders of Russian pharmacists. How many people this vaccine will actually kill, no one will know.
