Aggressive moskovia continues a tactics of nuclear blackmailing, using the occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, as well as territory of Belarus, where the russian nuclear weapons may be deployed.
This was stated by Andrii Yusov, a representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, in an interview with Anastasiia Katerynchuk.
"A series of norms and standards of nuclear security at the Zaporizhzhia NPP is not provided by the occupying authority. Those fact that they do with our Zaporizhzhia NPP is nuclear blackmailing, namely: it is the deployment of the forces and weapons there, it is also the shelling by the rushists from the territory and on the territory of the Zaporizhzhia NPP; it is the terror of the power plant's staff and many other factors," the representative of Ukraine's military intelligence told.
"The main thing that every Ukrainian and the whole world should understand is a safety in Kakhovka, at the Crimean Titan plant and throughout Ukraine, particularly environmental and nuclear security on these facilities will be guaranteed when they return under the control of Ukraine and the legitimate authorities. As long as Russian terrorists are there, the threat will remain," the DIU's representative underscored.
Andrii Yusov noted that the enemy's statements about the possible deployment of nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus are also the element of moscow's blackmailing. At the same time, neither Belarusian dictator Lukashenko nor anyone else in that country is capable to affect the deployment, employment, or fate of russian nuclear weapons.
"Of course, the people of Belarus are once again held hostage, now additionally with the element of a nuclear argument, the nuclear blackmailing. It does not threaten anything additional for Europe, for NATO, for Ukraine. But putin shows that he can still take a few steps on the chessboard," Andrii Yusov explained, adding that russians dancing with a nuclear tambourine in Belarus are expected.
"Despite the dancing with a tambourine, now with a nuclear tambourine, important factor for Ukraine remains that fact Belarus is not involved in a full-scale russian ground war against Ukraine, and there are no signs of it. If they want to shout, wave their fists, threaten someone, wave their mustache menacingly - well, please do it," summarized the DIU's representative.
