For every country, the National Flag is a symbol of its sovereignty and cohesion of the nation, the embodiment of power and independence. Over the thousand-year history, one of the fundamental values of the Ukrainians was desire for freedom. We have impressed with patriotism and fraternity. It is these values that inspired us to struggle for independence, the integral attributes of which were for ages the national symbols – flag, emblem and anthem.

Today, the Ukrainian flag is the flag of the state that has been defending its people and its land against the invader. The state that has chosen independence. Citizens who have chosen the European democratic way of development and freedom.

The national flag carries its history. Its two coloured stripes emphasize the loyalty and courage of our citizens; their readiness for self-sacrifice and belief in the Ukrainian state. The blue and yellow colours of the Flag of Ukraine are a symbol that protects the Ukrainian Nation, unites the Ukrainian people in the struggle for Independence, inspires freedom and awakens a sense of dignity.
