Today, at 14 pm, there will be an opening of the exhibition "Airport…The infernal runway" in the introductory hall of the main exhibit of the National Museum of History of Ukraine in World War II.

The exhibition is created to the Day of Honor of the last defenders of Donetsk airport and is a first attempt to tell about the epic of heroic defence by museum means. The scientists gathered the materials for a special project all over Ukraine. Photos, documents and personal things were given by parents and wives of the perished. On the whole, the exhibition presents more than 400 exhibits, which tell about the fates of 53 defenders of Donetsk airport, who participated in battles during all 242 days of the heroic defence.

Among the materials of the exhibit, there are "iron brothers of cyborgs", in particular, an off-road vehicle which was used during the defence of Donetsk airport by the scouts of the 3rd separate Special Forces regiment.

It is planned that the defenders of the airport and members of families of the perished cyborgs will participate in the opening of the exhibition.
