U.S. Senate has approved a draft defence bill for 2022 that authorizes $770 billion, which provides for the allocation of $300 million to support Ukraine.
The draft defence bill has been currently sent to the President of the United States to sign.
The approved budget provides $300 million in security aid to Ukraine that $50 million more than requested by U.S. President Joe Biden, including $75 million for lethal weapons.
The annual bill provides funding and defines the Pentagon policy. It has been approved by Congress on a bipartisan basis every year for the past six decades.
