russia was establishing its intelligence network abroad even before the onset of a full-scale armed aggression in order to carry out information operations. Special services of the partner countries still identify people who are or russia’s agents, or the russian ‘agents of influence’.

This was stated by Andrii Cherniak, a representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, for RBK-Ukraine.

“The russians are working with mass media in order to carry out information operations such as, for example, on fictitious sale of western weapons by Ukraine, or employment of ‘dirty bomb’ by the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” the representative of Ukraine’s military intelligence noted.

According to Andrii Cherniak, the russians are greatly interested in blocking ways of supplying weapons by our partners because they are aware that it will be difficult for Ukraine without their military and technical assistance.

“russia is spending millions of dollars on financing this very information campaign to counter the supplying weapons; it is large-scale and still ineffective. However, the terrorist country does not abandon attempts to influence on European countries, in particular, the Great Britain and on German society,” the DIU representative explained.

He specified that the russians are trying to prevent the delivery of weapons to Ukraine by all means. To do this, the space intelligence, and human intelligence network, and all the means of political as well as economic blackmail are involved.

“Information attacks through the mass media is one of the elements of the full-scale information operation on discrediting Ukraine before western world,” Andrii Cherniak said.
