"The commander makes the final decision. Still, we listen to those who are directly executing the mission," – Alpha, commander of KRAKEN
March 25, 2025

Alpha is the commander of the DIU special unit, KRAKEN. In an interview with KyivPost, he shared details of the unit's most high-profile operations and the principles guiding KRAKEN's commanders in combat conditions.

This approach delivers results — KRAKEN fighters were among the reconnaissance troops who, in October 2024, cleared 400 hectares of forest near the village of Lypsti, eliminated nearly an entire regiment of occupiers, and saved Kharkiv from the threat of another occupation.

"We stopped the enemy, cut off their supply lines, and blocked reinforcements. It was one of the most crucial operations that saved Kharkiv," Alpha recalls.

Today, KRAKEN remains one of the most combat-ready units and is actively recruiting volunteers. It promises top-tier training and the best equipment for combat operations.
