Metropolitan Epifanii of Kyiv and All-Ukraine and Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov, held a meeting.

The meeting, which was also attended by the Chief of the Military Chaplaincy Service of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Father Kostiantyn Kholodov, took place on September 5, 2024, at the residence of the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Epiphanii.

During the conversation, they discussed the challenges and threats caused by the russian-Ukrainian war, the resistance of our people, strengthening social unity, and the interaction of the army and the church to continue to repel the aggressor.

They emphasised the importance of supporting the defenders of the state, for which Kyrylo Budanov expressed his gratitude to Epiphanii and all the chaplains of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine who continue to care about the spirit of the Ukrainian army.

They discussed the need to create additional opportunities for the rehabilitation of the wounded defenders and the involvement of priests in this process.

After the conversation with Kyrylo Budanov, Metropolitan Epifanii and Archbishop of Volodymyr and Novovolynsk Matfei, Chairman of the Board of the Swedish Aid Centre Charitable Foundation Serhii Porokhnavets and a representative of the Volyn Regional Military Administration Nazar Romaniuk handed over a specialised fire truck for the needs of the intelligence officers.
