“Backpack of kindness” from His Holiness Patriarch of Kyiv and All Rus-Ukraine
Among those who received gifts from His Holiness Patriarch are children of the fallen ATO participants, including those of two warriors-scouts, displaced children, children from needy families, children with special needs, as well as children whose parents are participating in the anti-terrorist operation. Celebrant of Kyiv Patriarchy blessed each child and addressed everyone with arch-priest words:
“Our dear children!
First of all, we congratulate you on the beginning of a new educational year. Today, we have come together to present you with these schoolbags and assure you that Ukraine has not and will not abandon you. You are the future of a great Ukrainian state. That is why please accept these schoolbags as an expression of our love for you. And let God fill your hearts with love through these gifts, which the Church has presented you with today.”
His Holiness Patriarch Philaret started the All-Ukrainian campaign “Backpack of kindness” on August 12, 2016, and it will last until September 15, 2016. At the moment, 496 schoolbags have already been presented.
