At one of the positions held by russian occupation forces, DIU special operations units identified the body of sergey ivanovich zotov (born 15 October 1990), a citizen of the russian federation involved in the murder of civilians and the abuse of Ukrainian prisoners of war.

zotov operated under the call sign “Psycho”, a moniker fully reflective of his actions. He reportedly referred to his own position as “grave.”

The war criminal served in the 35th Motor Rifle Brigade of the 41st Combined Arms Army of the Armed Forces of the russian federation.

Before his death, zotov openly boasted in private correspondence about holding the rank of Senior Lieutenant and serving as head of a deserter-hunting unit — effectively acting as a commander of a so-called blocking detachment.

Even after being neutralized, the individual known as “Psycho” had previously expressed pride in seeing his name listed in Ukrainian registers of war criminals, thereby effectively confirming his direct involvement in the crimes committed.

The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine emphasizes that for him — as for every russian war criminal — only one outcome exists: just and inevitable retribution.
