Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Oleksii Danilov discussed with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom to Ukraine Melinda Simmons issues of bilateral cooperation, in particular, in the sphere of information security, hybrid threats countermeasures and defence reform.

Oleksii Danilov stressed that reforming the security and defence sector is priority for Ukraine. “Our army must use IT-components, high-precision weapons, be trained and motivated troops,” he said, expressing his gratitude to the British side for comprehensive assistance.

In her turn, Melinda Simmons assured in the importance of intensifying measures in the framework of defence reform at the institutional and operational levels. Ms. Ambassador expressed confidence of the lasting support of Ukraine on its path of reforms. Ms. Simmons expressed readiness of the United Kingdom to further provide our country with the necessary assistance and support.
