A meeting between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg was held within the session of the UN General Assembly in New York. The parties discussed further steps in the development of political relations and practical cooperation berween Ukraine and NATO.

Volodymyr Zelenskyi reaffirmed our country’s willingness to continue active interaction with the Alliance in implementing structural reforms in the security and defence sector under the NATO standards and noted the importance of the NATO’s North Atlantic Council visit to Ukraine, which will take place at the end of October this year. He is hopeful that the visit will enhance practical cooperation with the Alliance in the development of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in particular the Navy of Ukraine, as well as promote greater involvement of NATO in maintaining security in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.
